Iken Barns is a very special place to spend Christmas and the New Year whether it be a romantic one or one for a group of family and friends. Last year really opened my eyes to it being the perfect set up with the smell of turkey cooking, the fires burning and snow on the ground with children playing in the courtyard, a really special time. With fantastic walks along the estuary there is no better way to walk off the turkey ....or the alcohol from seeing the new year in! I am trying to offer guests as much as I can when the visit Iken Barns to maximise my market and to ensure guests want to come back year after year. The barge trips are going really well but I'd love to be able to hire out my kayak and paddleboard, I am struggling to get insurance to cover this....Zulu ad I love it on the paddleboard (known as a SUP - Stand Up Paddleboard) http://t.co/X1Chlbg (also on you tube http://tinyurl.com/44yydes) and the estuary is so calm and beautiful to explore. Summer at Iken Barns

I am loving my first summer here at Iken Barns, we have such a fantastic variety of guests from all walks of life visiting us and enjoying the surroundings. I have created a special offer page http://miniurl.com/113510 which seems very popular, listing any gaps for the summer period.

We're getting adventerous here at Iken with Zulu the Hungarian Vizsla (now nearly 5 months) enjoying a bit of paddle boarding on the estuary http://miniurl.com/113511 and the seal is a real regular this summer http://miniurl.com/113516. I've been heading out at low tide on my kayak (sliding down the mud which is fun!) to catch the wildlife and them coming back on the high tide, if you have a kayak then you should bring it on holiday here, the Estuary is so much fun to explore! I am looking into kayak insurance to enable us to hire them out and will keep you posted on this.

We have had a few gaps in May which has prompted me to look into our booking for the rest of the summer...and offer any remaining dates at a knock down price, I just like to see the properties full of guests having a good time and I guess it's better to get people here at a cheaper cost than have a barn empty. Easter Accommodation still available due to cancellation

Well it's Tuesday 14th and it looks like our season really kicks off after this weekend! I'm not too sure what to expect with it being my first year here but am looking forward to meeting lots of new people - and their four legged friends (My Pup Zulu the Hungarian Viszla is more excited about that - I'm hoping she gets tired out by all her guests and sleeps better at night!)
We have Long Reach Barn available for Easter weekend still as I had a cancellation last week, it is the last one available and our most prestigious one too! It really is a lovely property, sleeps 6, open fire, under floor heating throughout, Aga cooker in a large open plan kitchen / living area and dog friendly...the perfect place for you to spend a memorable Easter.
Pilates starts tonight with Ann Rayner at 6pm-7pm, we only have 7 attending but hope to increase numbers as time goes on, really good to get another regular session in Hardy's Barn our function room.
Right I'm on a mission to look into ways of promoting ourselves today through paid advertising...funny the phone has been ringing for weeks with advertises, now I want to advertisers and it's all gone quiet!
